10 Simple Habits to Follow to Live a Happy Life

Do you want to live a happy and fulfilled life but aren’t sure how to do it? Following these ten simple habits will help you live a happy life. Each of these habits is based on the core building blocks of happiness and will help you put in place one or more of those blocks.

  1. Prioritize Your Goals and Dreams – Don’t put what you want to do in life off until a tomorrow that may never come. Get started chasing those goals today. Put them first on your list of priorities.
  2. Connect with Friends and Family – You must have positive relationships to be happy. Take time out of your schedule every day to connect with someone important to you. Even a quick “Hi -How are you?” message will help maintain the connection.
  3. Get Enough Sleep – Sleeping is one of the most underrated components of happiness. Make sure you get enough of it, and everything will be better!
  4. Journal Several Times a Week – Writing down your thoughts and feelings will help you process them and connect you to your deepest self. You don’t need to journal daily but try to do it several times a week.
  5. Volunteer – Helping others through volunteer work is another underrated habit that will make you happier and more fulfilled. Try to volunteer once a month. You can volunteer anywhere, from your kid’s school to your local humane society.
  6. Make Time for Your Hobbies – Hobbies are important to fulfilment. Schedule time into your calendar for yours. Don’t put them off as “unimportant.” They are anything but and you shouldn’t write them off.
  7. Get Outside – Being in nature helps boost your mood and makes you more content with life. Try to get outside for 10-15 minutes a day. You can take a walk or just sit on a bench. The important thing is that you’re outside!
  8. Eat Well – How you fuel your body in large part determines your mood. Eat well and you’ll feel better.
  9. Laugh – Did you know that laughter is important to happiness? It relieves stress and makes you feel good. Seek out comedy or jokes you like to get a regular dose of this natural medicine.
  10. Exercise – Caring for your body will make you more fulfilled. You don’t need to spend hours at the gym; a 30-minute walk three times a week is enough to make you happier.
